Welcome to the website of the first phase of ADELANTE, the European Union's flagship programme for Triangular Cooperation. Launched in 2015 with a budget of €10 million, ADELANTE seeks to foster horizontal relations between Latin American and Caribbean countries and between these countries and Europe, in order to enhance the exchange of knowledge and harness the capacity of all partners to provide solutions for sustainable development.

In 2016, ADELANTE launched a call for grants, which resulted in the co-financing of 8 projects, involving 93 organisations from 22 countries in Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean. This website provides detailed information on each of these projects, highlighting their contribution to the 2030 Agenda as well as their lessons learnt, good practices and success stories. At the moment, 6 of the ADELANTE projects have already been completed and 2 of them remain under implementation until the end of 2022.

In turn, ADELANTE 2, the second phase of the programme, was presented and kicked off its activities in January 2021, including the ADELANTE Triangular Cooperation Window.

ADELANTE presents the systematisation of its first 4 years (2016-2020), a joint effort between the EU and LAC to work in a different and innovative way, which has shown the adequacy of Triangular Cooperation for the achievement of the 2030 Agenda.
