On the 16th August, the project Mirada Ciudadana put on its 1st Workshop with officials from Plácido Rosas.

The objective is to generate trust among participants, the moderator and the neighbors, establishing ground rules that they understand, that are respected, and that will not have consequences on their working relationship.

The members of the group present their main concerns, topics of interest and proposals to improve the work. The workshop begins with the self-presentation of the participants. From there, the activity began, explaining that it is a workshop within the framework of the Mirada Ciudadana project, which bases its work on strengthening municipalities, improving management and citizen attention.

The first activity is to know the law that regulates municipalities, their functions, organization, etc. For this, we deliver selected parts of the law and divide it into three groups. Each group presents the points that they consider most important to others. This work is very important because they work together as an administrative staff and work crew on a level of equality and combine their interests and present them in common.

From this presentation and comments on the points presented are asked to come together in groups to write on cards the issues that arise on how to improve the functioning, the relationship, the organization of work. They are explained that the cards with their proposals will be collected anonymously and will be presented to all by the moderator. After organizing them in a panel and the comments and clarifications we select the topics in which the different issues or concerns can be grouped: Internal communication; Management and organization of work. They were invited if they are interested we can come back together to work on these two issues. At closing, most showed their interest in continuing with this process.
