On 28 and 29 November 2019, the 2nd Meeting of Women Entrepreneurs of the Mirada Ciudadana Project was held at the Casa de la Cultura of the Municipality of Rio Branco, with the participation of 90 people, including 69 women, as well as authorities from the municipalities of Candiotta and Aceguá Brasil, and from the department of Cerro Largo.

On Thursday and Friday, the participants attended talks and workshops by two Colombian experts from the EDEM Project and the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, within the framework of an exchange mission of the ADELANTE Programme.

Within this framework, they exchanged experiences and worked with the methodologies proposed by these experts in order to improve their business, raise the quality of their service or simply visualize and shape ideas to create their own business. They also worked with the experts of Mirada Ciudadana and held a video conference with experts from the Chilean municipality of Peñalolén.

The experience was extremely enriching and the women present highlighted the importance of having participated in this meeting which provided them with valuable knowledge and experiences that can be replicated in their project.

The opening words were delivered by the Mayor of Cerro Largo, Dr. Pablo Duarte, the Mayor of the Municipality of Rio Branco, Mr. Christian Morel, the Brazilian Prefeitos and the Coordinator of the Mirada Ciudadana Project, Mrs Lucy Larrosa.

At the end of the last day, a fair was held in the commercial area of Rio Branco with craft products made by these women entrepreneurs: leather work, food, sweets, tinned food, natural soaps and wool or yarn fabrics, among other products.
