Argentina has been chosen as the headquarters for the Technical Unit of the Ibero-American Programme for the Strengthening of South-South Cooperation (PIFCSS) for the period 2018-2020. Through the Ministry’s General Management for International Cooperation, our country will serve as the Programme’s Executive Secretary. The decision was made unanimously by the countries that are involved in the programme, within the framework of the Intergovernmental Technical Committee that met this Monday, 3rd July, in the city of Madrid, Spain.

The PIFCSS is the program of greater reference and development of the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB). Since its creation in 2008, it has been able to strengthen South-South and Triangular Cooperation based on the work deployed at both the political and technical levels. In its scope, the Ibero-American countries have been working on different lines of action such as:

  • Training, training and structured exchange of experiences on South-South and Triangular Cooperation.
  • Support in the registration, analysis, systematization and generation of knowledge about CSS and Triangular.
  • Continuous development of methodologies, instruments and strategic documents for South-South and Triangular Ibero-American Cooperation.
  • Relationship and strategic dialogue with other actors and regions.
