Argentina's National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI) improved the building infrastructure of "La Usina" Agro-ecological Center in Santiago del Estero, a province in northern Argentina. This space, dedicated to sericulture, will specialize in the production of fiber processing and silk reeling machines.

In the center of the territory, in the Agricultural Experimental Station of the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (INTA EEA AMBA) started the construction work of its Sericulture Demonstration Center, a space that will be aimed at showing the community how the sericulture primary production process works.

The initiatives aim at reaching the groups of final beneficiaries who are undertaking an activity with silkworms and need advice on planting mulberry trees, good practices in sustainable production and material processing techniques. It is worth noting that silk production is considered to be a potential engine for sustainable economic growth and improvement in the quality of life of rural populations in Latin America, based on the production of silk textile fiber.

The works are carried out within the framework of the Seda Project, with the financial support of the European Union through its ADELANTE Triangular Cooperation Programme.
