ADELANTE Programme: Triangular Cooperation European Union Latin America and the Caribbean

As part of a study trip within the framework of the ADELANTE Programme missions, the technical coordinator of the SEDA Project, Engineer Patricia Marino visited the city of Barcelona to participate in the largest world fair of textile technology, #ITMA2019, where Industry 4.0 and the new generation of machinery and innovations for the textile industry were at the heart of the debates to outline a horizon of new challenges and work perspectives.

The Project promotes the production of silk fiber and its value chain up to the textile product or in other applications such as an activity based on innovation and fundamentally on sustainable development, in order to improve the quality of life of marginal populations in the Latin American and Caribbean region through value addition from the transformation of textile fiber in differentiated products on the market. In this sense, the mission allowed to monitor the latest technologies developed for fiber processing as well as to make contact with several R&D institutions in the world and with suppliers of the various technologies.
