The project "Contribution to the Food Security of the Population of Cuba", began its execution in November of 2017, and to date there have been 8 internships in which 16 Cuban professionals have been trained in the Laboratory and Quarantine Station Lo Aguirre and the Central Office of the Agricultural and Livestock Service of Chile.

The topics addressed during these internships were: Quality Assurance System; Feed Microscopy; Detection of Veterinary Drugs; Diagnosis of Salmonella, Swine Diseases, Avian Influenza; and Program of Surveillance and Control of Avian Influence and Swine Diseases.

These first activities respond to the two Specific Objectives of the project, that is to say the increase of the availability of innocuous foods of animal origin and the improvement of levels of animal health related to the Avian Influenza and the Classic Swine Flu. In this same line, the contents of these trainings are being replicated in Cuba by the professionals who traveled to Chile, in the National Food Hygiene Laboratory, the National Laboratory of Veterinary Diagnostics and the National Laboratory of Avian Research and Diagnosis.

During the year 2018 the rest of the scheduled internships will be carried out, in addition to continuing with the replicas and technical assistance of the SAG professionals in Cuba, with what is sought to reach as many Cuban professionals as possible.
