MESACTS initiatives and actions in response to the Covid-19 emergency

Under the MESACTS initiative, discussions have been held on the opportunity to reflect on and to analyse the consequences of the COVID 19 pandemic on the socio-emotional dimension of communities, families and children (boys, girls, teenagers and young people) and to explore to what extent the Roundtable itself could be contributing. 

Within this framework, it has been decided to organise a series of virtual seminars, with the aim of deepening ongoing processes, the consequences on the well-being of the communities and - remaining within the specific focus of the Roundtable - the role that the socio-emotional skills could play as a component of protection and resilient response. 

On the other hand, it is considered a priority to address the educational and labour environments as spaces in which to investigate the impact of the pandemic from a socio-emotional point of view. In particular, with regard to schools, the instrument developed by the Roundtable to assess school welfare can be adjusted with some items that explore the dimension of the COVID 19 impact.

The Programme of seminars has been scheduled as follows:

• 29 April 2020 - First Seminar to analyse the Situation by Participating Institution and Country (Download the summary document)
• 8 May 2020 - Second Seminar to Present the Ongoing Initiatives in the Different Countries.
• 15 May 2020 - Third Seminar for the Deepening of Instruments and Proposals (to be confirmed).
• 22 May 2020 - Fourth Seminar for the Deepening of Instruments and Proposals (to be confirmed).

This space of the MESACTS is coordinated by the National Department of Planning (Departamento Nacional de Planeación - DNP) of Colombia, which includes the CISP Technical Secretariat and where representatives of the following institutions collaborate:
