CONTRIBUTION TO THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
  • El proyecto 'Mecanismos Alternos de Solución de Conflictos (MASC)', liderado por el Poder Judicial y el Viceministerio de Paz de Costa Rica y ejecutado entre 2013 y 2014 gracias a la cooperación técnica del Programa EUROsociAL I puso en marcha una serie de procesos en esta materia que están en el origen del proyecto actual y que se han retomado e impulsado durante la ejecución del mismo, destacando la formación de formadores y las campañas de comunicación.


  • El Programa EUROsociAL II mediante una acción de cooperación técnica en el año 2015, contribuyó a la construcción de la 'Política Pública de Justicia Juvenil Restaurativa de Costa Rica', liderada por el Poder Judicial y el Viceministerio de Paz de Costa Rica. El Programa impulsó también actividades en el ámbito de la promoción y capacitación que han sido retomadas y reforzadas por el proyecto actual.


  • La experiencia italiana sobre justicia restaurativa en procesos penales para personas menores de edad (con especial atención a los delitos graves) fue una referencia durante la gestación del proyecto.


  • El proyecto ha realizado una visita de estudios a Turín y Palermo con el objetivo de conocer la experiencia italiana sobre justicia restaurativa en procesos penales para personas menores de edad involucradas en organizaciones criminales. Esta misión permitió diseñar acciones concretas dirigidas a esta población en condición de vulnerabilidad. La asociación RE.TE. ha apoyado en el diseño y planificación de la visita.

Se trabaja por una mayor utilización de la Justicia Restaurativa con el fin de aplicar soluciones alternativas al encarcelamiento, promoviendo una justicia más humana y equitativa que brinde oportunidades a las poblaciones más vulnerables y con enfoque de género. Con el ODS 16 como marco de referencia, sin olvidar nunca el ODS 5, se contribuye también a otros objetivos de la Agenda 2030, destacando el 1 y el 10, mejorando así la vida de las personas.
