A call to rethink development and generate a new consensus based on greater regional integration, international cooperation that effectively supports countries in transition to the development of Latin America and the Caribbean, and investments and industrial policies that favor the environmental impulse towards a more sustainable growth for equality, said the Executive Secretary of ECLAC, Alicia Bárcena, during a high-level meeting organized by the European Union (EU) in Panama.
Organized by the European Commission, the European Development Days (EDD) meet every year in Brussels, and since 2006, the development community of all continents to share ideas and experiences in order to seek innovative solutions oriented to the most pressing challenges on the planet. This year, the EDD took place on June 5 and 6 under the slogan "Women and girls at the forefront of sustainable development: protect, empower and invest".

The Dialogas project carried out the Workshop "Intersectoral articulation of plans and programs for the strengthening of the CTSE", with the objective of exchanging experiences and studying examples of the implementation of transversal and socio-emotional competences (CTSE). On this occasion, officials from the governments of Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Paraguay and Uruguay participated and the support of the Italian agency CISP. This initiative was carried out between the 22nd and 24th of May of this year in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The event took place from April 16 to 24, 2018 in Bogota and Cali and had the participation of 3 delegates from each of the following countries: Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, Panama, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica and 3 delegates from Cartagena, who were in contact with the following institutions: the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, SENA, Parquesoft Colombia, Universidad del Rosario, Confecámaras, Compensar, Pilot University innpulsa, Fondo Emprender del Sena, Chambers of Commerce of Bogotá , Caldas and Casanare, Apps.co progra
The Coordinator of the Mirada Ciudadana project, Mtra. Lucy Larrosa was selected to study a Diploma in South-South and Triangular Cooperation at the Complutense University of Madrid. Said instance was held on May 7 and 11 of this year in Madrid.
The Uruguayan Agency for International Cooperation (AUCI) and the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB), granted five scholarships for Uruguay to carry out this training.
