The capital of Costa Rica, San José, has hosted the celebration of the workshop “Towards a Regional Assessment Agenda”, within the framework of the project for the Promotion of the Evaluation of Government Policies in Latin America and the Caribbean.
In a bid to increase the impact of aid actions through European funds and combining networks of work and knowledge among institutions and organisations, the INTI’s Agency of International Cooperation, along with the project Seda and a representative from the Experimental Station of Pastures and Forages “Indio Hatuey” (EEPFIH) put on a course in Cuba by the Tec. Hugo Enciso, head of the Silk Lab at the INTI-Textiles Center. The aim of the course was the initiation of the silk pilot plant in the EEPFIH.
As part of active, exploratory and experiential learning, many educational institutions incorporate silkworm breeding to teach the biological process and transformation of the material.
Teachers, children, and their families participate in the silkworm care process, from the collection of mulberry leaves until its encapsulation and final metamorphosis, getting to discover the wonderful world of nature.

Argentina has been chosen as the headquarters for the Technical Unit of the Ibero-American Programme for the Strengthening of South-South Cooperation (PIFCSS) for the period 2018-2020. Through the Ministry’s General Management for International Cooperation, our country will serve as the Programme’s Executive Secretary. The decision was made unanimously by the countries that are involved in the programme, within the framework of the Intergovernmental Technical Committee that met this Monday, 3rd July, in the city of Madrid, Spain.
From 14th - 16th June 2017, the first meeting of the Working Group of the Regional Project was held in Montevideo, Uruguay: “RED CALLE - Latin American network of countries for developing policies to support the homeless”.
The International Seminar of the project Mirada Ciudadana: Good governance in MERCOSUR municipalities took place and was a great success. 12th - 16th July 2017
The Economic-Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of Cuba in Argentina, Aniurka Ortiz Marquetti, held a meeting with officials of the Management of Economic and Institutional Cooperation, the experts Maria Eugenia Suarez and Agustina Maggiore, and the Coordinator of the project Seda, Eng. Patricia Marino, of the National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI).

A new meeting on cooperation and development in Uruguay brought together representatives Denise Cook, from the United Nations, and Juan José Taccone, from the Inter-American Development Bank. The discussion titled "Uruguay’s Challenges for International Development Cooperation" was organised by the Uruguayan International Cooperation Agency and the Spanish Agency of International Development Cooperation.

During the Launch Forum of the plan Panamá Coopera, the Executive Vice Secretary of the regional organisation, Antonio Pardo, highlighted the importance of multilateral cooperation to reach the Sustainable Development Goals.
On 25th and 26th April 2017, the international seminar “The development of transversal and socio-emotional skills throughout the lifecycle: from experimental dimension to incorporation into public policies” was held in Bogotá, Colombia. Representatives from international institutions and organisations from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Paraguay, Uruguay and Italy took part.
