ADELANTE Programme: Triangular Cooperation European Union Latin America and the Caribbean

Within the framework of a coordination trip for the SEDA Project in Brazil, Engineer Patricia Marino met with the technical expert Dr. Maria Aparecida Fernandez and her team from the Universidade Estadual de Maringá - UEM to plan part of the actions that will be carried out during 2019 with the aim of moving forward in research work on silkworm diseases, building a demonstration center, fostering value addition and sustainable production, supporting sericulture producers and accompanying the empowerment of women in sericulture, under the aegis of the SEDA Project co-financed by the European Union through the ADELANTE Triangular Cooperation programme.

Oscar Sicari participated in the mission, which was also aimed at visiting producers' farms, the Fiação De Seda Bratac S/A company, where they were welcomed by the Directors Shigueru Taniguti Junior and Renata Amano, who is also Chairwoman of the Brazilian Silk Association, Abraseda, and by the Manager of the Technical Chamber of the Silk Complex of the State of Paraná, Oswaldo da Silva Pádua.
