Description of the visit:

Representatives of the EDEM project were invited to participate in the regional workshop entitled "Planning Triangular Cooperation Projects" organised in Bogota by the Regional Fund for Triangular Cooperation in Latin America and the Caribbean, funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) of the Federal Republic of Germany and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. Besides the participation of part of the project management team in APC Colombia, the presence of a representative of CENPROMYPE, one of the project's partner institutions, was also facilitated. The EDEM project was presented during the workshop, with an emphasis on the expected learning objectives and a focus on its monitoring and follow-up system, receiving positive comments from the other participants. Participants also shared the exercise being conducted by the ADELANTE Programme with the "Toolkit for identifying, monitoring and evaluating the value added of Triangular Cooperation”, produced by the OECD.

Objectives:

The workshop aimed at providing participants with tools for the planning and management of their Triangular Cooperation projects. During the three-day event, participants (representing Triangular Cooperation projects implemented in Colombia, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay...) analysed the planning and implementation of their Triangular Cooperation projects to agree on concrete improvement measures to feed into a future "Triangular Cooperation Project Planning Guide". In addition, the areas of coordination, cooperation and mutual support were strengthened.

Attended events:

"Planning Triangular Cooperation Projects" regional workshop.

Assessments:

The Workshop was valued as an exciting occasion for knowledge exchange that, in addition to focusing on specific tools, allowed for a deeper understanding of the importance of partnerships and the added value of opting for the Triangular Cooperation modality compared to other cooperation modalities.
