ADELANTE Programme: Triangular Cooperation European Union Latin America and the Caribbean

The technical referents of the entities participating in the Proyecto SEDA organized meetings on November 1, 2 and 3 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to establish the agenda of actions for 2018.

Patricia Marino, coordinator of the Proyecto SEDA of the National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI); Francisco Pescio of the National Institute of Agrarian Technology of Argentina; Maria Aparecida Fernandez of the State University of Maringá, Brazil accompanied by João Berdú, president of Vale da Seda; Adriana Restrepo Osorio of the Pontifical Bolivarian University of Colombia; Eng. Marlene Prieto Abreu of the Indian Hatuey Experimental Station of Cuba; Eng. Juan Rodriguez Martinez of the Tourist and Sericulture and Rebocería Training Center of Jiquilpan, Michoacán, Mexico; Giovanna Salice of Sociolario, Italy; Eng. Claudio Basso of the Silk Laboratory of the Faculty of Agronomy of the National University of Buenos Aires. Also participating in some of the meetings were Gabriel Fernández, team leader of the Technical Assistance of the ADELANTE Program; professionals of the Management of Economic and Institutional Cooperation of INTI, the Technical Director and Associate Director, Lic. Germán Escobar and Eng. Karen Zander of the INTI-Textiles Center and members of the Project Management Unit of INTI.

The Proyecto SEDA, co-financed by the European Union through the ADELANTE Program with €2,283,805, aims to transfer knowledge and experiences to achieve sustainable economic growth and improvement in the quality of life of rural populations of Latin American and Caribbean countries, from the production and cultivation of silkworms, the subsequent value addition and optimization and innovation in technical and organizational capacities of research centers to be built in Argentina, Brazil, Cuba and Mexico.
