We contribute to improving our elders' quality of life

It was held in the presence of Mayor Dr. Pablo Duarte together with directors and various authorities of institutions in the area, linked to the support of this section of the population. The Mirada Ciudadana Project contributed to the institutional strengthening work, in this case aimed at the Secretariat of the Elderly people and its Head, Mrs. Gloria Lucas. This card can be applied for by any person over 60 and brings benefits such as discounts on various purchases, tourism, accommodation, tickets to shows and so on, throughout the country as well as locally.

The required steps to obtain it must be taken at the Citizen Services Space located in the Municipality of Cerro Largo, and it is also intended to be used in the Department's municipalities by obtaining different benefits.

This is a major achievement reached thanks to the work of the delegates of the Interdepartmental Commission of Elderly People of the Congress of Mayors, in which Mrs. Gloria Lucas participates as vice-chairwoman. According to the data provided by Mrs. Lucas herself, 11 departments are working on the implementation of the card.

In addition to the authorities already mentioned, the President of the Shopping Centre, Mtra Mariela Moura, was present along with representatives of institutions of the Elderly such as Ajupencel and Aiamcel, among others, as well as the directors of Tourism, Social Management, Tertiary Education and the Coordinator of the Mirada Ciudadana Project.
