New Mission in Paraguay with significant progress regarding the support of Mirada Ciudadana to different organizations

This week, the Mirada Ciudadana Project's Experts and Coordinator will be in Paraguay, where different activities are being carried out within the framework of the Project.

First of all, the team worked with the Technical Secretariat of the Presidency of Paraguay, moving forward with what will be its request for support to the project since this institution is dedicated to strengthening the municipalities' capacities. This is why they consider that the project's contribution in this regard will be very positive and will provide a better methodology for the development of their activities and objectives.

Training

In Alto Paraná, the Governor's Office held a training session on "Project Formulation" for directors and Civil Society Organizations working in the Department.

On the other hand, training was also given on "Project Formulation" in a joint effort with the Association of Industries of the Itaipú Region (ADIRI) "aimed at its hierarchical staff, and the municipalities of Hernandarias and Mbaracayú.

In San Bernardino, a training session was held on "International Cooperation Opportunities in Cultural Matters" with the participation of the municipal officials and the civil society organizations involved in the cultural field.

Strengthening institutions and women of Presidente Franco

With the attendance of Laura Cabral, from the Technical Assistance team of the European Union's ADELANTE Programme, work was done with the women entrepreneurs of Presidente Franco. This work has been carried out for more than a year. At the same time, a working meeting was held with the Mayor of Pte. Franco, Mr. Roque Godoy, and his team from the social area.

Finally, a meeting was held with the Universidad Privada del Este, to analyze and exchange concepts regarding the technical assistance they have been providing to women entrepreneurs and to establish the guidelines for future work. Together with this institution, alternatives were also studied to continue with the training in international cooperation.

Lucy Larrosa, coordinator of the project, highlighted the meetings held last Monday, including the one with Senator Lilian Samaniego, President of the Senate Equity and Gender Commission, Director of the Guaraní Foundation and an activist who defends women's rights in Paraguay.

She also spoke about the second activity carried out during this mission, which was a meeting with Director General María Liz Sosa, Coordinator for the Open Parliament María Inés Ramírez and with Ms. Natalia Ferreira, a renowned expert from the Directorate for Institutional Development of the Chamber of Senators of Paraguay.

Larrosa and the project's experts also held a meeting with the Transparency Coordinator of Paraguay's Technical Secretariat, Jorge Galeano. During the meeting, it was agreed to collaborate in the formulation of the Open Government Commitments of the Mirada Ciudadana's partner municipalities.
