ADELANTE Programme: Triangular Cooperation European Union Latin America and the Caribbean

Eng. Francisco Pescio, technical expert at the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) for the SEDA Project, traveled to Mysore, India, to participate in the Training in Sericulture and Silk Industry, given by the Central Sericultural Research and Training Institute (CSRTI), Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles.

"The training has several objectives. On the one hand, to learn the production techniques of the Indian system, which is characterized by working with women farmers who make high productivity systems (based on appropriate technologies) and the subsequent processing into traditional items. And on the other hand, it seeks to strengthen links with the organizing country and among the members of the participating countries", explained the engineer from Asia.

Within the framework of international cooperation, the seminar is included in the ITEC (Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation) training programmes, an Indian agency that encourages cooperation among countries. On this occasion, participants are professionals from Asia, Africa and Latin America and the Caribbean: Thailand, Philippines, Azerbaijan, Madagascar, Uganda, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Sudan, Tunisia, Cuba and Argentina.
